The commune of Stare Juchy as a project partner in the years 2020-2022 is implementing the project:

Common history – common routes

The aim of the project is to highlight the importance of a shared history in the border region, improve the attractiveness of the area and attract tourists by creating new or expanding existing tourist routes and spreading information about the common historical and natural heritage on both sides of the cross-border region.

As part of the project, construction works will be carried out consisting of:

  • construction of a bicycle path in Stare Juchy
  • revitalization and adaptation of the square for cyclists and pedestrians.

During the project implementation, both Stare Juchy and Birŝtonas will create an information system for the presentation of historical and natural heritage and will create tourist routes on both sides of the border.

The map of the tourist route developed as part of the project will be available in both paper and electronic versions.

Project participants will have the opportunity to participate in woodcarving workshops and an event where historical and cultural heritage will be presented.

The project implementation period is April 1, 2020. – March 31, 2022

Project value EUR 666,017.17, including EU funding of EUR 566,114.57.

The eligible expenditure of the project is EUR 666,017.17.
